Since the 1870's the congregation of St. John's has reached out in changing ways to the larger community that surrounds them to demonstrate the love of God through innovative ways that reflect the core essences of faith: Christ's presence, acknowledged in joyful worship and shared Eucharist; love of other exhibited in hospitality, teaching, charity, and embrace; and appreciation of tradition by building upon the past to address each new day's needs. It has been and is an unfinished journey of challenges, hope, struggles, but most of all of love found in faith. From the initial courage of a few people to be church in their time, the congregations of St. John's have continued to become church in each generation's time.
